Castles - the children got excited about history during the first few weeks in the Allen Centre, by exploring a magical castle!
Medieval castles have a special kind of magic that make them a perfect topic to get curious about. Young children can pretend they’re adventurous knights, and older children will be fascinated by tales of what went on inside the walls.
To celebrate Seaweek we delved into Shells - I have always loved shells. I remember spending time at the beach hunting for shells. I thought shells were so beautiful and I always hoped to find large ones that were still intact. Funny enough, I don’t think I even spent much time considering the fact that animals had once lived in them. I wanted the kids to explore a variety of shells, and try and figure out what the animal was that once lived inside these beautiful creations.
